As We Go On We Remember All the Times We Had Together...

As graduation inched closer and closer, I never thought that I would miss high school. I don't think I would want to relive it all, but somethings I just wasn't ready to let go of. The people I grew up with will always have a special place in my heart. They are the girls that you still call when you have a bad day or the ones you call when you are in Austin and have no clue where to go or that introduce you to Italian food in Huntsville (yes there is really an Italian restaurant there and its good!!) or the ones that you know will be standing right next to you when you say "I do" and then later rushing to the hospital to be there for the arrival of your first child (named Presley...right Alex???) I am blessed to have some of the greatest girlfriends and still stay in touch. Before school started we were able to get together for lunch at Red Lobster and now planning a weekend getaway!!! I can't wait! I love you girls and can't wait for the years to come!!

Alexandra Isabelle Zografos...she goes to the other school, but we try not to hold that against her!

You never know with Anna...the hair is always unexpected!

No trip to Red Lobster would be the same without Brandon Pope as our waiter

Droppin It Like Its Hot

I am for sure back in the swing of things!! School, work, and organizations have been keeping me busy, but that is just the way I like it!!! In the midst of all this craziness I have managed to make it to the gym quite often...which makes me feel so good!!! There's a sign outside of Gold's Gym that says, half the battle is getting yourself to go the gym, and boy is that ever true! Once you are there and surrounded by several others on a mission to get in shape, you can't help but join right in. And it's so motivating when you finally start to feel like you are in better shape...then you can't get enough of it!! This Saturday is the first annual pajama run put on by the Texas A&M triathlon. I am kinda nervous about it, but we will see how it goes!!!

Posts are always more fun with pics!! It has been a while since our last 45 picture with Nathan, so we decided to do one again! But I goofed on the first one...one of these days we will get it on the first try!

Jacy K and Priscilla! We were headed to a black and white birthday party for a couple of the football players. One of them I have posted about before, Justin McQueen

Dropping In

The latest faze going around facebook is posting a note that entails 25 random things about you! So because nothing exciting much has been going on around here ((well except going to the hospital with food poisoning last week)) I just thought I'd share my 25 Randoms with the bloggers!! Feel free to post 25 random things about you!!
1. I love Elvis Presley. I love the beat of his music and the rich tones of his voice.
2. I prefer driving without shoes...unless its freezing outside then I'd rather keep my shoes and socks on.
3. I was once told that I'm hesistant to venture out yet I yearn for the adventure. I've never forgotten that and try to prove it wrong, but sometimes it sure is hard!!
4. I think my absolute favorite channel to watch is the Disney Channel...you can't go wrong with some of those shows
5. I was peed on by a goat on the streets of Guatemala...bad experience!
6. I have no clue what I want to do in life. I don't know what kind of job I want. I'm not even sure if I am in the right major...which isn't good considering I don't have much longer left until I am suppose to graduate.
7. I have a heart for missions. I don't know yet just what I am suppose to do with this passion, but I do know that God will guide me to it and use me in a way that will glorify him.
8. I would love to live in New York City...but not for long. I think that I would get tired of the crazy atmosphere...but just for a little while to get out of my system before I settle down.
9. I still sleep with a stuffed animal. His name is Brown Bear (original, I know) but my mom got him for my baby shower before I was born.
10. I'm overly excited to see Clay Walker at the rodeo. 2 years ago I flipped out just because I touched his hand....kinda sad, I know!
11. Sometimes I only like things because no one else has them or because it's out of the norm.
12. My favorite shoes have to be my furry zebra converse!!!!
13. I never liked Spaghetti or Mac N Cheese.
14. I would prefer a hot dog over the taste of a steak anyday
15. I absolutely love my hometown, but glad to only come back and visit now. My hometown friends are the greatest....love the A's and Caroline!!!
16. Some may think I live on a ranch, and though I admit it's the not anything close to a suburban home, it is for sure not a ranch either!!! Land and a few animals doesn't justiy a ranch.
17. I love piercings...but in moderation. I'm not decked out in holes, but I for sure love the adrenaline rush that comes with it
18. I quite frequently forget to speak before I talk. It happens more than I would like, but at least some can get a laugh out of it. I'm just glad God gave me a sense of humor so that I can laugh along with it.
19. I fell on the track 2 years in a row...just by running, so I'm probably not the most graceful person there is...in fact I could probably write a book on my falls and awkward moments with my clumsiness...construction fencing, the chandelier, the list goes on
20. If I had to choose one thing that I missed from High School more than anything else...it would be FFA. Nerdy...but I loved the competing, the speaking, the practicing, the friends from all across the state...I just miss it all!!
21. I hate to clean!! If I could pay someone to do it, I would in a heartbeat. The only time I don't mind cleaning, is if I'm talking on the phone which doesn't happen too often.
22. I hate snakes!! The thought of them terrifies me. If I see one I have no idea how I will react..I just hope that never happens.
23. I'm in the process of getting my handgun license!! I'm so excited! I am pro-guns, pro-CHL, pro-handguns on campus, pro-Castle Doctrine. But I believe to only be in use when you or your family is in grave danger where your health is threatened, not simply to protect a big screen tv or vehicle.
24. I miss W as president already. I was sad to see him go, but I am rest assured that God has a plan for this country and Obama fits right into His powerful will.
25. I play Bunco once a month with my mom and some ladies from my hometown church. It is always a unique experience with those ladies, but I greatly enjoy that time to go back and spend with my mom.

Which going back to the sick thing...I do want to say that I have to have the greatest parents in the world!! Last Monday at midnight I woke up pretty sick and just had the feeling that this wasn't just a get over it go back to sleep type of deal, but something that I was gonna have to put up with all night. By 12:30 I had called my mom and dad feeling miserable and by 1:30 I was headed to the ER and so was Dad. He drove all the way to College Station late that night to sit with me the whole time I was there. He brought me home to Madisonville around 5:30 where Mom took her shift in helping me walk and getting to bed. As I slept after being up all night, Mom and Dad got up to conquer the day as usual with very little sleep. After 21 years, they are still there for me driving me home sick and holding my hair back, I don't know how I would handle somethings without them! Love ya'll!!

A Weekend At The OTHER School

Ready for a loooooooooong post???? There are so many good pictures from our trip to Austin this weekend I couldn't narrow it down or leave out any details!!! A group of 9 of us started out the roadtrip to Austin, Texas on to watch the Fightin Texas Aggie Men's Basketball Team take on t.u. Packing up to head out!!!

First stop was what we all called the "Halfway Cafe" named by Travis. The Elm Creek Cafe was located halfway between College Station and Austin on Hwy 21 and man it was soooooo good!! Travis was looking forward to the chicken fried steak and boy oh boy was I ever thankful for mom's homecooking. I really couldn't believe that some families don't get this meal cooked at home! It's like a luxury or a delicacy!! I just stuck with the grilled cheese...but man it was good!!

Girls! Girls! Girls!

And the whole caravan!!

It took us awhile to finally make it to Austin with the stops and dinner and trying to park when we finally got there!! Geez! The parking in Austin is terrible!!!! But it felt good to have finally made it!!

The next day we were worn out!!! And had a whole day to kill!! So what else would college kids do??? Take a nap!!!! It was certainly nice to lay around and relax!!

We finally got ready to head to the game and in order to save money in parking we loaded the truck down!! 14 people in one truck!!! Have you noticed that we accumulated more and more people as time went on.

Bed of the truck shot!

Headed to the game!!! With our one longhorn...Alayna!!!

The Frank Erwin Center....or as dad kept calling it "the Drum" It was bigger than Reed Arena and due to a college budget we were in the nose bleed section, but we still had a great time supporting the Ags!!

Nathan!!

Friendship Divided!! Yes I had to sit next to Alex during the game and as we were slowly defeated, but just wait til t.u. steps into Reed Arena and surrounded by the 12th man! We will have our revenge!!!!!!!!

My Chalkboard!!

I finally finished my chalkboard!!! I was so inspired when going to Canton...they seemed to mod podge everything! So I decided to catch the mod podge fever and make my own chalkboard from a cabinet door I got at Canton!! I can't wait to get back to College Station and mod podge the top of my dresser. The basketball boys are playing OU tomorrow...the reason for my message!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Growing up I was raised on the oldies but goodies. Memaw and Pawpaw had a jukebox

filled with the golden classics that they grew up listening to. Us grandkids would sit in the back room picking songs on the jukebox and dancing to them all!! We even have evidence of Pawpaw singing and dancing with us!! This is when my love Elvis began. I always have liked the unique things and fell in love with them more because they are rare...perhaps this can explain my warddrobe choices mom! I have always been asked why I like Elvis so much, he has such a rich voice and amazing good looks plus after all the documentaries I have watched he seems like such a fun down to earth guy....who wouldn't love the King of Rock 'n Roll??? Anytime someone comes into my room, they quickly pick up that I am fan of Elvis due to my collection from over the years! I just love it and especially since it something I can share in common with my mom and memaw. Anyway today Elvis turns 74! I couldn't imagine what he would look like at that age!! So Happy Birthday Elvis Presley!!! On to the Elvis movie marathons ;)

Lessons Learned

Mom made a comment to me the other day about how I haven't posted on my blog in a while. My camera broke, so I haven't been able to document anything to post and since I have moved home for the holidays, everything I have done mom has posted on hers! So this will be the holidays through a college kid's eyes.
Lets see over the past couple weeks I've turned 21, watched plenty of Aggie Basketball both in Houston and in College Station, been to Jacy's a couple times in Deer Park...which by the way, she is neighbors with Andy Petite and his gym is bigger than our house, rang in the New Year with awesome friends in College Station, celebrated Jadwiga's birthday, and I am sure I could go on and on.
I have also learned valuable lessons being out of school.
Lesson #1...Even though you are living at home, make sure you still have spending cash!! Man, if it weren't for my money sometimes I think I would starve!!! Mom is certainly dieting at our house!! Poor Lindsey and Dad for having to be there all through the year, for me it's only a month!! Yes I like healthy foods as well, but we don't have the exact same tastes in food. For example, I cannot for the life of me get myself to like Rasin Blan...uh I mean Rasin Bran! But mom I will say you look great, but those few chips and salsa for lunch doesn't quite feel this 5 foot 10 inch girl for lunch!!
Lesson #2...Boys really our stubborn when it comes to directions! I was so excited to get my GPS system for my birthday and was estatic to use it the next day on the way to Jacy's house!! But my male passenger decided that we didn't need to use it and we could navigate just fine...WRONG!! Instead our 1 hour trip took close to 3 hours and cost us an additional 3 dollars to get on the wrong toll road and then have to pay to get off of it! Oh man I was exhausted from all that driving by the time we finally got to the Toyota Center. But I will say that I did end up talking him into using the navigation system...so maybe he wasn't too stubborn!
Lesson #3...A trip to Canton. I told mom the next time she went to Canton, that I really wanted to go. Man did I learn that there are some dedicated shoppers out there...one being mom! How do you know that you're a dedicated Canton shopper?
1. You know what stores do and don't have bathrooms on the way to Canton
2. Before arriving to pay to park you have your 5 dollars ready because you know the price of parking.
3. You pull out of the trunk your own cart.
4. Before leaving the car you look like you are preparing for battle. Mom loaded her pockets down...phone, cash, credit card, camera...((I'm probably leaving something out the way she was loaded down!!))
5. You have a mapped out route to follow. ((We got there and I was starving!! I was hoping for a chic-fil-a breakfast on the way, but not one in site. So I first asked for the food when we got there, but she had it down pat the way we were to go and when we'd come by the food))
6. You know when to stop for a bathroom break because you already know that they are the nicest bathrooms there.
7. You speak in Canton lingo. ((I got a text from mom...meet me at the top of the hill...hello??? where's the hill and what on earth are you talking about???))
8. You know where not to get the pork-ka-bob because from previous experience it was way too tough!
I'm sure there are more that I can add, but mercy! she can shop at that place!!!
Dad should be back from lunch soon, so I probably make myself look productive ((just kidding dad!!...well kinda!!))
