*Frosty White Aggieland*

Early this morning word was buzzing...or should I say flurring around town that snow was coming!! But I was a party pooper this morning, since I was trying to get a few ZZZZ's in before my last final...WHOOP!!! But after coming home to take another nap ((my sleeping schedule is way off)) it was hardcore snowing!!!! After snowball fights with neighbors and building our own Frosty the Snowman, we came into defrost for a few. But couldn't stay in long!! We then drove around town looking for hills to sleigh down with what else than pool floaties?!?! We may not be prepared for cold weather, but we can take what we have and make it work!!
This pretty much sums up my day!! Estatic because I am finished with school and it's snowing!!!

Rooooomates!!

You can barely see it, but this Travis pushing me down a hill that no longer had snow at Wolf Pen Creek Ampitheater. We weren't the first ones with this bright idea, so the hill had been broken in.

YIPEEEEEE!!!!

Guess who gets to see President Bush???? ME!!!!!! I am soooo excited!! He is coming to speak at the Texas A&M Graduation ceremony Friday morning. Secret Service has been crawling all over the place and we have been given strict instructions for Friday. A&M students had to first register for the tickets and then go pick them up, but just because you registered didn't mean that you were guaranteed a ticket, so it was still a gamble. This morning I went to get my ticket a little after 10, and by the time my friend's got there they were all gone by 10:15, so I cut it close!! I said an extra prayer last night to get those tickets and man am I estatic!!! So Friday morning I will be in Reed Arena with 2 of America's finest guys...G-Dub (as we call him) and my dad!!!!

Dead Week Recap

Whew!! What a week it has been!!! In between the studying, coffee, library visits, and headaches we managed to squeeze in some fun!! Our Christmas party and snowfest, that's already been posted, was only the beginning!! I don't know if anyone caught the A&M basketball game on tv Friday, but it had to be the best game I've ever been to HANDS DOWN!!! We played Arizona and boy were the wildcats hungry for a win! They started the game with a 3 pointer and didn't slow down. The Ags trailed the whole game until Nathan sunk a 3 pointer to win the game! Reed Arena became alive. Everyone on their feet, yelling for our team. The 12th man made their stand!!! After the win we rushed to the court for the Battle War Hymn...oh the adrenaline rush!!! After the game we met up at my friend's place and watch Nathan's highlight on sports center!!!
Rushing to the court after the game!

Here is the link to watch Nathan's video!!!

Yesterday got even better! Grandma came to College Station and took me to lunch and then we hit the Aggie Tent Sales so she could find her an Aggie shirt...sadly no Aggie Grandma shirt, I'll just have to keep my eye out for one. Thanks for coming Grandma...I love you!!

Last night over 150 people met behind Northgate on bicycles to take a Christmas bike ride to downtown Bryan. If you have a chance to go...downtown Bryan is gorgeous all lit up. We made a couple stops at some random downtown areas and of course Whataburger on the way home since we worked up such the appetite. I had an absolute blast and didn't even have a wreck!!! I am sore today though!!!

Part of our group in downtown Bryan

Thank goodness Christina was there!! I thought I was going to be the only girl!! We managed just fine and had the best time!!Bryan

This place had a fire pit and hula hoops! There was also an Indian type band with a belly dancer. What a culture experience!! The wall behind us was so pretty...I'm gonna have to go during the day to take pictures there!!

Snowfest!

A few of my friends travel around Texas near Christmas time and build snow mountains to sled down. Tonight they were local at Sue Haswell Park in Bryan. As we were bundling up to head to the park Clint called me to say that the lines were so long and for us to come out after it closes!! That's right we would have whole mountain to ourselves!!!! Oh I was so anxious and excited to sled down the little mountain.

Gettin in the Christmas Spirit!

After we have stuffed our bellies with turkey and dressing and sweets...it was time to try and burn some of those calories off by getting into the Christmas spirit!! Oh this is my favorite time of year!!! I love decorating the tree ((well this year I was a little distracted with the A&M basketball game on tv...sorry mom!)), helping dad hang the lights ((even if its sprinkling outside)), and Christmas music!!!

To kick off dead week we had a Christmas party!! We were to all bring food for potluck and a gift under 20 dollars for the white elephant game. I was so proud I made Mrs Bailey's little sandwiches for the first time which turned out to be hit!!
I didn't get a good picture of me, but I came dressed as a sparkly zebra present since I said that I was a gift from above ;) We had a few others get in the spirit...especially Jordan who was proud of his $15 Santa suit from Walgreens

To start out the games we played a game that involved dice and presents...no ladies, it wasn't bunco!! There was a big wrapped present in the middle of the table. We rolled two dice and whoever got doubles put on ski gloves and begin to unwrap the gift until someone else rolled doubles and then you had to stop and the next person put on the gloves an unwrapped the gift. Guess who was the first one to roll doubles with 2 sixes??? ME!! Man when I rolled those double sixes, I thought I was still in Bunco mode from the night before!! After getting through the first present we then had several more to go through, but at the end was a little jewelry box that had a note inside saying that that person was number 1 for the White Elephant game.
I'm often referred to as the rancher of the group, so I thought what would be more appropriate than a rancher gift. Of course it wouldn't be as funny if one of the girls got the gift...so I tried to warn all the girls and Nathan ended up snagging the John Deere tractor and farm animals. It turned out perfect! We had a great time, and it was good to get together and relax before the real stress of finals set in!!! Say a prayer for us college kids!! The light's at the end of the tunnel!!!

Where's Waldo??

This picture was on the cover page of aggieathletics.com. They change the pictures frequently so it's not up there, but I saved it just in time. Me and a couple of friends are behind Sloan's head...see if you can spot us!!

Class of 2010 E Walk

Today I was able to take part in the Aggie Tradition, Junior E-Walk. I copied a paragraph below from A&M's website that does a great job of explaining what Senior Elephant Walk and Junior E-Walk are.
"Like dying elephants, which wander the jungle looking for a place to die after their value to the herd is over, thousands of seniors will join hands and wander aimlessly about campus visiting landmarks for the symbolic "last time." At the same time, the junior class takes a walk around campus, symbolizing their rise to the top of the leadership at Texas A&M. Festivities start at Simpson Drill Field with live elephants, a Candy 95.1 radio broadcast, the 12th Man Bus, and official event shirts sales. After the the Class of 2009 picture and class gift revelation at Kyle Field at 1:00 pm, Mike Fossum, Former Student and NASA Astronaut, will serve as this year's keynote speaker. Step off for the Walk will take place at 2:09 p.m. for the Class of 2009 at Kyle Field and at 2:10pm at the Corps Arches for the Class of 2010, whose class picture and speaker will occur in Kyle Field at the conclusion of their walk."

We were trying to keep ourselves entertained in the long line, so I did my impression of the elephant.

There were photographers there taking pictures as we went through so I will have to see if it is any better than this one!I was hugging the elephant's trunk but because I am so tall I didn't realize that my hand was near its mom, so needless to say I cause quite the scene as I jumped and screamed when he opened his mouth!!

Sisters for the Lord

Tonight I was initiated in Sigma Phi Lambda which means I am no longer a pledge, but instead an active member!! I wish that I would have found this organization my freshman year, but I am so glad that I am a part of it now!!! We were escorted in one by one then signed the Phi Lamb book and were handed a certificate and a charm. Nationals is very strict about the ceremony as it has been used every year since the eighties, which means the ceremony was extremely corny!!! It was hard to fight back the laughter, but it was exciting to become an active member!!
Pledge Class Tao

Flowers from my big!! The lighting is bright, but they are maroon, how perfect? The pink flowers on the side were giving to us along with our certificate and charm.

No Turkey For This Thanksgiving!!

Sunday night me and a few friends from College Station caravaned down Highway 21 to have our own thanksgiving dinner in Madisonville. But this wasn't your traditional thanksgiving meal...dad cooked duck and goose!! mmmmm it was sooooo good!!! We did have a ham for back in case it didn't hit the spot for everyone. Yep you could pretty much say that I provided some of the meat for the dinner. It's not easy work! Waking up before the sun, sitting in the cold weather to provide for the family, as my dad always says! We had a great time and my parents enjoyed meeting all the people I have been talking about for months!! Thank you mom and dad for cooking and opening up our home for my friends!!

Mom - just to thank you I wore your favorite shirt that night!!

Let the Good Times Roll

Man I had a crazy busy weekend!!! Where do I begin?
Thursday night was Fight Night in Huntsville. Now I have never been into fighting and I know it's not exactly the classy thing ((definitely not on the prowl for a man there!!)) but my friend Bobby Powers (on the right) was cage fighting. He has been trainig all across the U.S., Las Vegas, California, and Florida. In addition, Bobby is an instructor at Krav Maga (Israeli Self Defense) in College Station. With 44 seconds left of the second round Bobby claimed his victory!! It was an exciting night for Bobby and his fan club!!
After running around all day Friday, I packed my bag and headed to the duck lease!! I have to admit when laying in that warm bed early Saturday morning, I really did want to go hunting. But Dad's excitement is contagious! I hopped out of bed, slipped on my wadders, grabbed my Reese's Puff Cereal, and was ready to go!! I was anxious to kill my first bird. As soon as the birds started flying, there was no stopping in my shooting!! We looked up and saw geese headed our direction, my blood was pumping as I took the gun off safety!! That's when it was that I killed my first bird...a snow goose!! Although it wasn't the best hunt, we all came home with a bird!!
No time for sleeping!! I came back to College Station only to hop in the car and head to Waco for the Baylor game! Tito, Jacob, Alex, and I went to Floyd Casey Stadium to support the Aggies and #18 Brad Taylor for Bears. Although the game didn't end up in our favor we did have a great time seeing each other and watching the game. Which by the way thanks to Justin McQueen (who wore #12 at the Baylor Game) we were able to have free front row tickets! Boy did I sleep good Saturday night!! But there was no stopping my jukin and a jivin on Sunday!! Mom, Dad, Lindsey and Landon all came to the basketball game. Laini met us at Chicken Oil for the best burger in town!! Mom and Dad weren't too appreciative of my fashion sense ((I think dad was thrown off in the picture by my hat!!)) I'm sure mom will post the full picture of my ensemble on her blog!

To wrap up the weekend, Laini and I had a double header at the movies!! Madagascar 2 and High School Musical 3. It was a great ending to the weekend, especially since we haven't hung out in sooo long!!

I like to move it! Move it!

They Grow soooo Fast!

Man I never realized just exactly how fast babies grow!! My babysitting job has taught me oh so much about babies...which I know that I will really appreciate later down the road ((don't worry mom and dad...yes MUCH later down the road)). Although might I add that mom did plug into a conversation the other day about a "companion" for me...it is sooo crazy to think that when mom was my age she was married and I was almost one! ((I thought the random plug in was funny!!)) But back to Will! I started watching him over the summer, so he was about 6 months old and now he will be turning one soon! When I first met Will, he could barely crawl and now he has gotten so big and almost walking and talking up a storm (well I don't know exactly what he is saying, but he certainly always has a mouth full) He loves taking pictures and knows when to smile...so it is not hard to get a good picture of Will and you should see him get so excited about seeing himself in the camera! I feel like a mom or a grandma, but I am with Will 4 days out of the week, so we do spent quite a bit of time together! This is one job that I have not gotten tired of yet...it is just perfect! And I am looking forward to him walking (well that may not last long because I know he will be into EVERYTHING, more so than now!) and talking to where I can understand him!!!

Struttin Like a Peacock

Well I have to say that my peacock costume was a hit this year!!! Although I did get asked if I was a butterfly! Come on now...I have a tail, not 2 wings!! Sometimes though the tail was a bit frustrating walking through crowds and especially driving or sitting down! Now I know why God did not give us a tail...it is a pain! We had several Halloween social events...so I for sure got my money's worth!

Costume Bunco at Mom's

Halloween Night with Lindsey the Pirate and Landon

With Where's Waldo? Michael Phelps, The Devil Wears Prada, and Bob the Builder

Ashley the Maid

Lindsey borrowed the peacock costume to wear to school on Friday, but Thursday I discovered a last minute Halloween function that I couldn't miss out on, so I was a pirate too!

I found Elvis Presley!!

Man I am just not use to high heels!! So before the night was over I found rubber boots in Kelsi's car and had to wear them instead!! I mean it fits right? Pirates are on boats, where it could get wet and you just may need your rain boots!!

It's a Winning Streak!

Today Texas A&M football started their first winning streak of the season...we have won 2 games in a row!!! Today was a great game...although I was a little nervous at the beginning of the game, but I brought my cousin Kasey to the game. We had a full day! I met Rae Lyn this morning at 9:30, and then we went to watch the Maroon and White Basketball game. We had lunch at Chicken Oil (it just makes the game day) and then off to the football game!!
It seems like he had a good time! Although I don't know which was his favorite part, watching the game or eating the snowcone!!! I was proud to teach him a few Aggie traditions, how to hump it and uncover. All in all we had a great time!!

Sweet Memories

Today was such a refreshing day! For lunch Alex drove in from Huntsville and met Caroline, Anna, and me at Texas Roadhouse for a reunion and to celebrate Caroline's 21st birthday! It was so nice to sit around and visit and catch up! The four of us rarely get together, but when we do, oh how I love it!! We did start a tradition last year for every Christmas we draw names then get together and exchange gifts and eat dinner!! I am already anxious for our Christmas dinner!!

Who Says Girls Can't Play Ball??

This past weekend the Ol' Ags put on a powderpuff tournament to benefit the Red Cross and charities in the Brazos Valley. Let me say the game of football is tough!! I don't understand it at all; I am just told who to guard and not to let her get past me. Other than that I don't exactly what all else exactly is going on. But I did have a good time playing for my Christian sorority, Sigma Phi Lambda

Laini :)

The Powderpuff Tournament is a big event in which many parents come, so I had my #1 Fan there!! Thanks for coming to watch me DAD!! I LOVE YOU!!!
